Reactivate a user

You can reactivate a user that is on-hold or pending deletion if they are within your span of administrative control. Reactivating a user provides the person immediate access to Connected and its features, based on current policies that apply. If the user previously had access to active file shares or collaborations, they automatically regain access to any that are still active and allowed by policy. When reactivating a user, you can choose whether Connected sends the user an email to notify them of their reactivation.

TIP: To reactivate a large number users across many groups, consider using the ImportUsers tool to automate the process. For information about this tool, see the ImportUsers Tool Help Center, available on the the Connected documentation site.

To reactivate a user

  1. Click the HIERARCHY tab.

  2. Locate the user entry, and then select it.

  3. Click ACTIVATE (activate icon).

  4. In the confirmation prompt, select whether you want Connected to send the user an email notification, and then click ACTIVATE.

The system sends a notification by default.

NOTE: Users that are on hold before reactivation might have to restart their Agents so that they receive notification of the reactivation. Without a restart, Agents might not receive the signal to start syncing and backing up files again.
