Export a backup policy

To simplify the creation or duplication of backup policies, you can export an existing policy to serve as a template for new policies. You can export any policy under your administrative control. Connected exports policies in XML format so you can easily edit them before reimport.

To export a backup policy

1. Click the POLICIES tab.

2. Find the policy you want to export, and then select it.

   If the policy has both a published and draft version, Connected will export the published version. Otherwise, it will export the version available.

3. Click EXPORT ().

   Connected downloads the policy to a file named policyName.xml.

To create a new policy based on the exported version, you have two options. Either modify the policy manually before reimporting it or reimport the policy as-is, and then modify it through the Connected web app. If you modify the policy manually, you can still make changes to it through the web app after import.
